Privacy

No cookies, no analytics, no accounts. What is collected, why, and how long it is kept.

The short version: this site collects as little as it can, because collecting things creates an obligation to protect them and a temptation to use them. There is no account system, no advertising network, and no tracking script on any page.

What is collected

Server logs

The web server records the request path, the time, the browser identification string, and a truncated form of the network address. These are used to find faults and to see which mirrors are struggling. They are kept for thirty days and then deleted.

Things you type into a form

The contact form and the requests page store exactly what you submit, in a file on the server (bluesystem_contact_messages.json and bluesystem_requests.json respectively). If you leave an email address, it is used to answer you and for nothing else. It is never sold, never shared, and never added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

Search

The search field sends what you type to this site's own search endpoint so results can appear as you type. Those queries are not stored, not attached to anything identifying, and never leave this server.

What is not collected

• No advertising or analytics scripts of any kind, from us or anybody else.
• No tracking cookies. The site sets no cookies at all.
• No fingerprinting, no session profiling, no cross site identifiers.
• No accounts, so no passwords and no personal profile to leak.

Third parties

Mirror links point at services we do not control, and once you follow one, that service's own privacy policy applies. We do not pass anything about you to them beyond the request your browser makes on its own.

Removing your data

If you have sent a message or a request and want it deleted, write from the same address through the contact form and it is removed from the file. There is nothing else stored about you to remove.

Changes

If this policy changes, the change appears on this page. There is no version where the site starts collecting more than it does now.
