Requests

Ask for what is missing. The list is reviewed weekly and the most requested titles are sourced first.

The library grows from this page. Requests are collected, counted, and worked through in order of how many people have asked for the same thing, which is a far better signal than any of us guessing what belongs in the catalogue.

Be specific. A request for a design application tells us nothing; a request for a named program at a named version tells us exactly what to source. If a particular build is the one you need, say so, because the current version is not always the one people want.

How requests are handled

The list is reviewed weekly. Anything asked for more than a handful of times is sourced, tested, and written up in the usual way, which takes between a few days and a couple of weeks depending on how large the package is and how badly it behaves on a clean machine.

You will not get a running commentary. If you leave an email address, one message goes out when the title is listed, and that is the only thing the address is used for.

What does not get taken up

• Software that is already free. There is no reason for us to sit between you and the developer's own download page.
• Titles that need a hardware key, a dongle, or a live server to run. Nothing we can do makes those work.
• Very old versions with no working installer. If the setup routine will not run on a current system, listing it helps nobody.
• Anything aimed at breaking into systems or accounts. That is not what this library is for.
