4K Video Downloader

A focused grabber that pulls video, audio, subtitles, and whole playlists from the streaming sites people actually use, in the unlocked edition with no clip limit and the playlist and channel tools enabled.

Version 4.33.5 68.2 MB Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 Updated 4 days ago

Overview

What this release is

This tool does one thing and does it without fuss. Paste a link and it reads the available quality variants, lets you choose the resolution or pull the audio only, and saves the result to a folder. There is no browser extension to break and no clutter around the single job, which is why it stays installed on machines that have tried and abandoned the heavier download managers.

The playlist and channel handling is where it earns its place over a generic downloader. Point it at an entire playlist and it queues every item at the chosen quality, and the subscription feature can be set to watch a channel and pull new uploads automatically as they appear, which turns it into an archiving tool rather than a one clip at a time utility.

The extra formats round it out. It pulls the subtitle track alongside the video or saves it as a separate file, it extracts the audio to a plain sound file when only the sound is wanted, and it handles the 360 degree and high frame rate variants that trip up simpler grabbers. Smart mode remembers the last choice so a batch of links all save the same way without repeating the dialogue.

This build has the paid edition unlocked, which removes the limit on how many items a playlist download will take, enables the channel subscriptions, and lifts the daily clip ceiling of the free version. It runs offline once the requested media has been fetched.

Questions

Before you start

Does it need a browser extension?

No. Everything works from pasting a link, which is why it keeps working when browser changes break other tools.

Can it download a whole playlist?

Yes, in one operation at the chosen quality. The unlocked edition removes the item limit the free version imposes.

Does the channel subscription run automatically?

Yes. It checks the channel and pulls new uploads as they appear once the subscription is set.

Why does a download only offer low quality?

The higher variants are served separately on some sites. Update the tool, since extraction changes as those sites do.
