Aescripts Flow for After Effects

The curve editor extension that replaces the fight with the graph editor, letting easing be applied from a visual library of curves across any number of selected keyframes at once.

Version 1.5.1 18 MB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 3 weeks ago

Overview

What this release is

Anyone who animates in After Effects has spent hours dragging bezier handles in the graph editor trying to make motion feel right. Flow replaces that with a small floating panel showing the curve itself, a library of saved presets, and a single button that applies the selected curve to every keyframe pair currently selected. What used to take a careful minute per property takes about two seconds.

The preset library is where the real time saving lives. Build an ease that matches the house motion style, save it once, and every animator on the project applies exactly that curve from then on. Presets sync from a folder, so a shared drive keeps a whole team on consistent motion without anyone eyeballing handle positions.

It handles more than simple two keyframe eases. Multiple layers, multiple properties, and spatial as well as temporal interpolation are all covered in one operation, and the panel reads the existing curve when you select keyframes so an inherited animation can be inspected and adjusted rather than rebuilt. Curves can also be typed in as numeric values when a specification calls for exact figures.

This package is the extension itself, installed into the After Effects scripts folder, with the licence check removed so the panel opens fully functional rather than in the limited demonstration state. It sits alongside any other extensions already installed and does not modify the host application beyond adding its own panel entry.

Feature set

What you get

Visual curve editor

A dedicated panel showing the easing curve directly, with draggable control points that respond far more predictably than the graph editor handles.

Preset library

Save any curve as a named preset and apply it later with one click, keeping motion consistent across a whole project.

Bulk application

Applies to every selected keyframe pair across multiple layers and properties in a single operation.

Shared presets

Preset folders can live on a shared drive so an entire team works from the same motion vocabulary.

Numeric entry

Curve values can be typed in when a motion specification calls for exact figures rather than a feel.

Spatial and temporal

Handles both interpolation types, so position paths and value curves are eased in the same pass.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Compatibility updated for the current After Effects release cycle
  • Preset panel gained folder grouping and search
  • Faster application on selections covering several hundred keyframes
  • Curve reading now shows the existing ease when keyframes are selected
  • Fixed the panel that failed to redraw after a workspace reset

Installation

How to install it

  1. Close After Effects completely before installing. The extension is copied into the host scripts folder and a running instance locks it.
  2. Extract the archive to a short path and run the installer as administrator.
  3. If the installer does not detect the host application, point it at the After Effects program folder manually.
  4. Enable script access to network and files under preferences and scripting, otherwise the panel cannot load its presets.
  5. Open the panel from the window menu after restarting the host. No licence entry is required.

Questions

Before you start

Does it work with older After Effects versions?

It covers several release cycles back, though the oldest builds miss the newer preset features.

Will the panel open without a licence?

Yes. The check is removed in this build, so it opens in the full state rather than the demonstration mode.

Can presets be shared between machines?

Yes. Point the preset path at a shared folder and every installation reads the same library.

Does it change existing project files?

No. It only writes keyframe interpolation values, which are stored in the project like any manual adjustment.
