Overview
This is the plugin that changed how vocals sound on recordings, and it did so twice. Used gently it is invisible, tightening a performance that was almost right without anyone hearing that anything happened. Pushed to instant retune it becomes the hard, stepped effect that an entire generation of records is built on. Both uses run through the same processor.
The correction engine works in two ways. Automatic mode listens against a scale you set and pulls notes into place in real time, with the retune speed control deciding whether the result is transparent or deliberate. Graphical mode draws the actual pitch curve of the performance so individual notes can be moved, straightened, or reshaped by hand, which is how serious tuning work is done.
The bundle is far more than the correction plugin. Harmony generation builds backing parts from the lead vocal in the right key, formant control changes the apparent size of a voice without altering pitch, throat modelling reshapes the vocal character, and there are dedicated processors for de essing, breath control, mic modelling, and vocal doubling.
