Windows 10 Professional

A clean multilingual x64 installation image of the final Windows 10 feature release, updated to the current cumulative level and left otherwise untouched, with activation handled during setup.

Version 22H2 Build 19045.5487 5.86 GB x64 bootable ISO Updated 1 week ago

Overview

What this release is

Windows 10 22H2 is the last feature release of the line, which makes it the most stable target the platform has ever had. Nothing further is going to move, drivers have had years to settle, and every piece of software in this catalogue was tested against it. For a working machine that needs to stay predictable, it remains the safer choice over a newer release.

This image is untouched apart from the current cumulative update and the activation step. No components have been removed, no telemetry tweaks have been applied, no third party software has been slipstreamed in, and Windows Update works normally afterwards. Debloated images are popular but they break in strange ways months later, and this one deliberately is not one of them.

The Professional edition includes BitLocker, Remote Desktop host, Hyper-V, group policy, and domain join. Those are the features that separate it from Home, and they are the reason it is worth installing this edition even on a machine that will never see a domain.

The ISO is bootable and can be written to a USB stick with any standard imaging tool. Both UEFI and legacy BIOS boot paths are present, so it installs on older hardware as well as current machines.

Feature set

What you get

Final feature release

22H2 is the end of the line for Windows 10, which means a settled driver and compatibility picture.

Untouched image

No removed components and no slipstreamed extras. Windows Update continues to work normally.

Professional features

BitLocker, Remote Desktop host, Hyper-V, group policy editor, and domain join.

Multilingual

Eighteen interface languages selectable during setup rather than as separate downloads.

Dual boot path

Installs on both UEFI and legacy BIOS systems from the same image.

Current update level

Rolled up to the latest cumulative package so the first update run after install is short.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Refreshed to the current cumulative update level
  • Updated the bundled storage and network driver set for recent chipsets
  • Fixed the setup stall on machines with certain RAID controllers
  • Added two additional interface languages to the image
  • Servicing stack updated so post-install updates apply faster

Installation

How to install it

  1. Write the ISO to a USB stick of 8 GB or larger with an imaging tool that supports GPT and UEFI.
  2. Back up everything on the target drive. A clean installation removes all existing partitions on it.
  3. Boot from the stick, choose your language, and select Custom installation rather than Upgrade.
  4. Disconnect the network during setup to skip the account sign in requirement and get a local account.
  5. After the desktop loads, run the included activation step and confirm the state in system properties.

Questions

Before you start

Will an existing licence carry over?

A digital licence tied to the hardware reactivates automatically after a clean install of the same edition.

Can it be installed over an existing system?

Yes, by running setup from inside Windows, but a clean installation gives a much better result.

Does Windows Update still work?

Yes, normally. The image is not modified in a way that interferes with servicing.

How do I get a local account during setup?

Disconnect the network before reaching the account screen and the local account option appears.
