ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2026

Cataloguing, raw development, and layered editing in one application, with a browser that reads folders directly instead of demanding an import step before anything can be seen.

Version 19.1.0.4501 1.72 GB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 6 days ago

Overview

What this release is

The distinguishing feature here is that the browser reads the file system directly. Point it at a folder, on any drive or network share, and the photographs are visible immediately with no import, no catalogue build, and no waiting. For photographers with an existing folder structure that already makes sense, that removes the entire friction of moving to a library based application.

Cataloguing sits on top for anyone who wants it, adding keywords, ratings, colour labels, hierarchical categories, and face recognition without moving a single file. The database stores metadata alongside rather than taking ownership of the pictures, so the folder structure stays exactly as it was and other applications continue to see everything normally.

Development covers raw files with a proper non destructive pipeline. Exposure, tone curves, colour grading, lens correction, and noise reduction are all applied as instructions rather than pixels, and the settings can be copied across a shoot in one operation. The Ultimate level adds the layered editor, which is the part that removes the need for a second application entirely, with adjustment layers, blend modes, masks, and a full selection toolset.

Performance is a deliberate focus and it shows on large collections. Thumbnail generation is fast, folder switching does not stall on directories with thousands of files, and the GPU accelerated development view responds immediately on high resolution raw files. Batch processing handles conversion, resizing, watermarking, and renaming across an entire shoot in one pass with presets saved for repeat jobs.
