Overview

What this release is

Dreamweaver occupies a position nothing else quite fills. It is a proper code editor with completion, validation, and refactoring, but it renders the page live beside the code and it carries a site management layer that handles the remote server as part of the project rather than as a separate publishing step.

The live view is the reason people keep it. Edit the markup and the rendered page updates as you type, and click an element in the rendered view to jump to its position in the code. For anyone working on an existing page they did not write, that connection between the visual and the source is worth a great deal of time.

Site management covers the whole publishing side. Define a site once with its local folder and its remote target, and the program tracks what has changed, uploads only what needs uploading, handles dependencies so linked assets go with the page, and can synchronise both directions when someone else has edited on the server. Check in and check out prevents two people overwriting each other on a shared site.

The editor itself handles the current languages properly with syntax colouring, completion including your own defined names, error highlighting as you type, code folding, multiple cursors, and a linting step that catches structural mistakes before they reach a browser. Framework starter layouts are included for the common responsive grid approaches.

This build is the full application with the site management layer, the file transfer client, and the whole template system included. It installs and runs without a sign in step and does not need any other application present.

Installation

How to install it

1. Turn off real time protection before extracting.
2. Extract the archive to a short path.
3. Run the setup executable as administrator and choose the interface language on the first screen.
4. Leave the install location on the default drive so the shared component paths resolve.
5. Skip the sign in prompt on first launch and define your first site before opening any files.
