Overview
Digital painting applications have always simulated paint. This one simulates what paint does after it lands. Watercolour bleeds into wet areas and stops at dry edges, colours mix on the canvas rather than in the palette, and oils build up thickness that catches light and smears when a wet brush passes through them. Watching it work is the closest a screen has come to the real thing.
The interface is stripped back deliberately. Panels collapse away, the canvas takes the full screen, and the tool set is reachable with the pen rather than through nested menus. It is built for a tablet held in one hand, which also makes it unusually pleasant on a pen display connected to a desktop machine.
Vector and raster live side by side in the same document. A line can be drawn as vector for clean scaling and then painted over with raster brushes without switching documents or exporting anything, which suits illustration work that ends up in both print and screen output. Layers, masks, and blend modes work the way anyone from the wider family expects.
