ANSYS Products 2026 R1

The full simulation package covering structural, thermal, fluid, and electromagnetic analysis, installed as one collection with the workbench environment tying the solvers together.

Version 2026 R1 42.6 GB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 1 week ago

Overview

What this release is

This is not a single application but a collection of solvers with a shared front end. Mechanical handles structural and thermal analysis, Fluent and CFX cover fluid flow, HFSS and Maxwell deal with electromagnetics, and the Workbench environment ties them together so a result from one can drive the setup of another without exporting anything by hand.

The meshing tools are where most of the actual work happens, and they are far better than they used to be. Automatic mesh generation produces a usable result on complex geometry without manual intervention, and the local controls for refining specific regions are straightforward enough that a first analysis does not require a meshing specialist standing behind you.

Geometry handling is flexible. SpaceClaim provides direct modelling for cleaning up imported CAD, removing small features that would wreck a mesh, and building simplified representations, which removes the most common reason a simulation stalls before it starts.

The package installs the full product set offline with no licence manager to configure on the network, which is normally the single largest obstacle to running this software outside a corporate environment. Allow a long time for setup, since the total install is very large.

Feature set

What you get

Structural and thermal

Mechanical covers static, dynamic, nonlinear, and thermal analysis with contact handling and material nonlinearity.

Fluid dynamics

Fluent and CFX for flow, turbulence, combustion, and multiphase problems with the full solver set.

Electromagnetics

HFSS and Maxwell for high frequency, low frequency, and motor design work.

Meshing

Automatic generation on complex geometry with local refinement controls that do not require a specialist.

SpaceClaim

Direct geometry modelling for cleaning imported CAD and building simplified analysis models.

Workbench

One environment where results from one solver feed the setup of another without manual export.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Solver performance improved across structural and fluid analyses on many core machines
  • Meshing engine handles thin walled geometry with fewer manual controls
  • Additional material models added to the nonlinear library
  • Improved CAD import fidelity from current design packages
  • Fixed the result file corruption on very long transient runs

Installation

How to install it

  1. Extract to a drive with at least 90 GB free during setup. The unpack stage alone is very large.
  2. Disable real time protection for the whole installation process.
  3. Run setup as administrator and deselect the products you will not use, which saves a great deal of space.
  4. Apply the included licensing step before launching anything.
  5. Start Workbench and confirm the product list shows the installed solvers as available.

Questions

Before you start

Does it need a licence server?

No. This configuration runs standalone without querying the network at startup.

Can I install only some products?

Yes. Deselect the ones you do not need during setup. The full set is far larger than most people require.

How long does installation take?

Well over an hour on most machines. The unpack stage runs before the installer itself begins.

Why does a solve fail immediately?

Usually a meshing or boundary condition problem rather than an installation one. Check the solver output file first.
