Capture One Pro Enterprise

The raw processor that studio and fashion photographers grade through, with tethered capture, layered local adjustments, and the colour editor that the whole program is built around.

Version 16.8.4.3645 1.34 GB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 6 days ago

Overview

What this release is

Capture One earns its position on colour. The raw engine produces a starting point that most photographers prefer to the alternatives straight out of the file, and the advanced colour editor lets a single hue be isolated and adjusted without the ugly transitions that a coarser tool leaves behind. For skin tones in particular, this is the reason people move across and stay.

Tethered shooting is the other half of the argument. Files land on the machine as they are taken, appear on screen at full size within a second or two, and can have a look applied on arrival so the client sees a graded image rather than a flat raw. In a studio with people standing around waiting, that speed is the whole workflow.

The layers system is genuinely non destructive and genuinely local. Masks can be drawn, gradients applied, and luminosity ranges targeted, with every adjustment living on its own layer and remaining editable indefinitely. Nothing is baked until export, and the session or catalogue records every step.

Sessions and catalogues coexist, which is unusual. A session is a folder based working set for a single shoot, a catalogue is a long term library, and files move between the two without duplication. The Enterprise configuration adds the extended tooling for controlled production environments.

Questions

Before you start

Which cameras support tethering?

Most current bodies from the major manufacturers. The supported list is inside the capture tab.

Can catalogues from other raw processors be imported?

Yes, though only the file references and basic metadata carry across. Adjustments do not translate.

Are adjustments stored in the raw file?

No. They live in the session or catalogue database, leaving the original file untouched.

Why is browsing slow on a new import?

Previews are still being generated. Let the first pass finish before judging performance.
