Autodesk AutoCAD 2027
The drafting application that the DWG format was built around.
A character pipeline that produces rigged, textured, animation ready humans without sculpting one from a sphere, bundled with the full content library and every export path enabled.
Overview
Building a believable human from scratch is a specialist job that takes weeks. Character Creator exists to shortcut that entirely. You start from a fully rigged base, push the morph sliders until the face is the one you want, dress it from the content library, and export something that animates correctly the moment it lands in an engine.
The morph system is where most of the time goes and it rewards the attention. Every region of the face and body has its own slider set, proportions can be pushed well past realism for stylised work, and the underlying rig adapts rather than tearing. Skin is layered, so pores, blemishes, and subsurface behaviour can be dialled in independently of the base tone.
Clothing behaves properly rather than being glued to the mesh. Garments conform to whatever body shape you settle on, physics can be enabled per item so fabric moves with the animation, and the layering system handles a shirt under a jacket without the usual poke through. Hair uses a strand based system with its own physics settings.
Export is the part that makes it a production tool. The rig maps cleanly to the standard humanoid skeletons, motion retargets from most capture sources, and the material set converts to the shader models used by the major real time engines. The package includes the full base content library and the smart hair and accessory sets.
Feature set
Region by region control of face and body with a rig that adapts to extreme proportions rather than breaking.
Independent control of tone, pores, blemishes, and subsurface response for close up work.
Garments adapt to any body shape with per item physics and proper layering without poke through.
Strand based hair and grooming with its own physics and level of detail settings for real time use.
Bring in capture data from most sources and retarget it onto the character without manual bone mapping.
Clean export paths with material conversion for the major real time engines and standard humanoid skeletons.

Questions
Yes. The skeleton maps to the standard humanoid definitions and materials convert through the included presets.
The base library ships with the package. Additional marketplace packs are separate and not part of this release.
Yes, through the headshot workflow, which fits the base mesh to a photograph or a scan and keeps the rig intact.
For strand hair and dense scenes, yes. Simpler characters run comfortably on mid range hardware.
