Autodesk AutoCAD 2027
The drafting application that the DWG format was built around.
A design and toolpath package for routed and carved work that turns flat artwork into relief models, with the Pro sheet size limits removed and the full clipart and texture library included.
Overview
This sits in a specific corner of the manufacturing world, the one occupied by sign makers, furniture shops, guitar builders, and anyone running a router table. It covers the whole path from drawing to cutting file, and it does so with an interface aimed at woodworkers rather than at engineers, which is why it dominates small shops.
The relief modelling is the reason to choose the Pro tier over the simpler product. A flat drawing, a photograph, or a piece of clipart becomes a three dimensional relief through a set of shaping tools that push, blend, smooth, and layer surfaces without any conventional modelling knowledge. A carved panel that would take a modeller an afternoon takes twenty minutes here.
Toolpath coverage handles what a router table needs. Profiling with tabs, pocketing, drilling, v carving with automatic depth from line width, prism carving, fluting, inlay with the fit allowance calculated for you, and both rough and finish passes for relief work. Two sided machining is supported with alignment handled by the software rather than by eye.
Nesting places parts across a sheet to reduce waste, the simulation shows the cut result against the real material with the chosen tool, and the post processor collection covers essentially every hobby and small shop controller. The library of clipart, textures, and modelling components is included in full.
Feature set
Turn a drawing, photograph, or clipart element into a carved relief with shaping tools rather than conventional modelling.
Automatic depth from line width for carved lettering and detail, which is the tool most sign work runs on.
Male and female parts calculated with the fit allowance included so pieces actually seat together.
Flip and align handled by the software with registration built into the job rather than measured by eye.
Automatic part placement across a sheet to cut material waste on production runs.
The complete clipart, texture, and modelling component collection included with the package.
