Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus

The perpetual licence office suite that never expires and never nags, in both architectures, with the full Professional Plus application set and no subscription layer anywhere in it.

Version 16.0.10417.20018 3.12 GB Windows 10 / 11 (32-bit and 64-bit) Updated 1 week ago

Overview

What this release is

Office 2019 Professional Plus remains the version people install when they want a suite that simply sits there and works. There is no subscription check, no cloud requirement, and no interface that reshuffles itself every few months. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher, OneNote, and Skype for Business are all present in the Professional Plus configuration.

Excel is the reason most organisations stayed on this release for so long. The 2019 function set includes the modern text and logic functions, the full Power Query stack, and PowerPivot with the data model intact, which covers essentially every spreadsheet workflow short of live cloud collaboration.

Outlook in this version keeps the classic profile handling that later releases moved away from, which matters if you connect to an on-premises mail server or manage several PST archives. Rules, search folders, and offline caching behave exactly as they did before the redesign.

The package includes both 32-bit and 64-bit builds. Choose 64-bit unless a legacy add-in specifically requires the 32-bit version, which is still common in finance and engineering environments.

Power Query, PowerPivot, and the full 2019 function library with the data model intact.

Offline installation

The whole suite installs from the local package with no component streamed from a Microsoft server.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Repackaged with the current cumulative update set rolled in
  • Fixed the setup failure when an older Click-to-Run installation was present
  • Added a language selector to the front end instead of separate downloads
  • Improved detection of existing Office installations before setup begins
  • Reduced package size by removing duplicate proofing tool payloads

Installation

How to install it

  1. Remove any existing Office installation, including trial versions that shipped with the machine.
  2. Extract the archive and run the front end as administrator.
  3. Choose your architecture, then select the applications you want. Deselect anything you will not use to save disk space.
  4. Let the installer finish without opening any application in the middle of the process.
  5. Run the included activation step, then open Word and confirm the account panel reports a licensed product.

Questions

Before you start

Can it be installed next to a newer Office version?

Not reliably. Click-to-Run installations conflict with each other and the newer one usually wins.

Does Outlook connect to modern mail providers?

Yes, over IMAP and Exchange. Providers requiring modern authentication may need an app password.

Which architecture should be chosen?

64-bit unless a specific add-in requires otherwise. Large spreadsheets in particular benefit from it.

Do updates still install?

Security updates apply normally. Feature updates do not, since this is a perpetual release.
