MiniTool Power Data Recovery Business

Recovery covering deleted files, lost partitions, formatted volumes, and unbootable machines, with the Standard, Deluxe, Enterprise, and Technician feature levels all present in the package.

Version 13.0 128 MB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 1 week ago

Overview

What this release is

The layout of this tool is built around the question people arrive with, which is where the files were rather than what they were. Pick a logical drive, a physical disk, a specific folder, or a piece of removable media, and the scan is targeted accordingly. Scanning a folder that is known to be the right one takes a fraction of the time a whole disk pass needs, and that alone gets many simple cases resolved in minutes.

Results are presented in three views rather than one, which makes a real difference on a large scan. The path view rebuilds the original folder structure where the file system records survive, the type view groups everything by format for the cases where names are gone, and the filter narrows by size, date, and format so a scan returning half a million files can still be worked through. Preview is available before recovery on the common document, image, and video formats.

The partition side is where it goes past a simple undelete tool. A drive whose partition table has been damaged, a volume that shows as unallocated, or a disk that Windows insists on formatting can all be scanned for lost partitions and rebuilt, with the found volumes listed and mountable before any decision is made. Formatted and repartitioned drives are handled by the deep signature scan.

The higher feature levels included here add the practical extras. Bootable media lets a machine that no longer starts be scanned without pulling the drive, unlimited machine use covers the technician case, and the RAID reconstruction module rebuilds arrays from member disks when the controller information is gone. Scan results can be saved and reloaded so a long scan does not have to be repeated after a break.

Feature set

What you get

Targeted scanning

Scan a specific folder, logical drive, physical disk, or removable device rather than always sweeping the whole system.

Three result views

Rebuilt folder paths, grouping by file type, and filtering by size, date, and format for very large result sets.

Lost partition recovery

Finds and rebuilds volumes on drives with damaged partition tables, listing them for inspection before any change is written.

Bootable media

Creates recovery media so a machine that no longer starts can be scanned without removing the drive.

RAID reconstruction

Rebuilds arrays from member disks when the controller metadata is lost, with automatic layout detection.

Saved scan results

A long scan can be saved and reloaded later, so recovery can be finished across several sessions.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Deep scan speed improved on high capacity drives
  • Additional file signatures added for recent camera and project file formats
  • Preview extended to further video container types
  • Bootable media builder updated for current recovery environments
  • Fixed the partition scan that missed volumes on drives with mixed sector sizes

Installation

How to install it

  1. Never install onto the drive you are recovering from. Use another disk or a separate machine entirely.
  2. Disable real time protection before extracting, since the engine needs raw disk access.
  3. Extract to a short path and run the installer as administrator, which is required to read devices directly.
  4. Choose the feature level during setup. All levels are present and can be switched afterwards.
  5. Always recover to a different physical drive than the source, or the write can overwrite what is still being read.

Questions

Before you start

Which edition does this package install?

All four feature levels are present. The selector during setup only decides which modules appear in the interface.

Is there a recovery size limit?

No. The restrictions of the free tier do not apply, so recovery is unlimited in size and file count.

Can it recover from a drive Windows wants to format?

Often yes. Run the lost partition scan first and mount the found volume before agreeing to any format prompt.

Should the drive be imaged first?

If the drive is making noise or throwing read errors, yes. Image it and scan the image rather than stressing failing hardware.
