Overview

What this release is

Nitro's pitch has always been familiarity. It wraps a complete PDF suite in a ribbon interface that looks and works like the Office applications everyone already knows, which flattens the learning curve for an office moving off a plain reader. Everything is where a Word user would expect it, and that alone is why it spread through business desks.

The core work is genuine PDF editing. Text edits in place with reflow, images can be replaced, and pages can be inserted, removed, and reordered. Documents convert to and from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and batch conversion can turn a folder of documents into PDFs, or a folder of PDFs back into editable files, in one run.

Form and signing tools cover the paperwork side. Forms can be filled whether or not they carry real fields, documents can be signed and sent for signature, and the QuickSign feature places a saved signature in a couple of clicks. Redaction removes content from the file rather than hiding it.

The Enterprise build enables the full feature set, including the batch tools and the signing workflow, from first launch with no trial limit.

Installation

How to install it

Extract the archive to a short path with real time protection disabled.
Run setup as administrator and complete the installation.
Do not open the program before applying the included registration step.
Start the program and confirm the Enterprise features show no trial limit.
Set it as the default PDF handler when prompted, or leave the current handler if preferred.

How is it different from the expensive competitor?

It covers most of the same ground in a familiar ribbon interface at a smaller footprint. Very advanced prepress work still favours the heavyweight.

Does it convert PDFs to Word?

Yes, individually or in batch, with structure preserved as far as the source allows.

Is the signing legally binding?

It produces standard electronic signatures. Whether they are binding depends on your jurisdiction and the document.
