BLUESYSTEM

Opera Browser

The browser that keeps trying features the larger ones will not, packaged as a standalone offline installer with the sponsored bookmarks and promotional speed dial tiles removed.

Version 134.0.5954.46 128 MB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 3 days ago

Overview

What this release is

Opera has always been the browser that ships the idea first and lets everyone else copy it two years later. Tabs, mouse gestures, and the speed dial all started here. The current version continues that habit with a workspace system, a sidebar full of pinned services, and a set of tab management tools that the bigger browsers still do not match.

Workspaces are the feature worth switching for. Each one holds its own tab set, so a research session, a work set, and a personal set live side by side without a hundred tabs in one strip. Tab islands group related pages automatically as you open links from a source, and the tab search finds anything open across every workspace with a keystroke.

The built in tools cut down on extensions. There is a proxy service in the browser itself, a tracker and advertisement blocker that works without a third party filter list, a battery saver that noticeably extends laptop runtime, and a pop out video player that floats over other windows while you work.

This package is the full offline installer with the sponsored bookmark set, the promotional speed dial tiles, and the bundled service shortcuts removed. The rendering engine is the same one most of the web is tested against, so extensions from the usual store install without a compatibility layer.

Feature set

What you get

Workspaces

Separate tab sets in the same window so unrelated sessions do not compete for space in one strip.

Tab islands

Pages opened from the same source group themselves automatically and can be collapsed as a unit.

Built in blocking

Tracker and advertisement filtering without installing a third party extension or filter list.

Proxy service

A traffic routing service included in the browser, with region selection and no separate client.

Sidebar services

Pin messengers, players, and notes to a side panel that stays available across every tab.

Battery saver

Throttles background activity and reduces frame rates to extend laptop runtime noticeably on long sessions.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Rebased on the current engine release with the associated security fixes
  • Workspace switching made faster on profiles holding hundreds of tabs
  • Sponsored bookmarks and promotional tiles removed from the package
  • Sidebar panel rendering fixed on displays with fractional scaling
  • Reduced memory use in the pop out video player during long playback

Installation

How to install it

  1. Close any running instance and end its background processes before installing.
  2. Extract the archive and run the installer as administrator.
  3. Choose a clean profile if you want the stripped speed dial, since an imported profile carries the old tiles across.
  4. Import bookmarks and passwords through the settings panel afterwards rather than during the first run.
  5. Set updates to manual if you want the cleaned package to stay as installed.

Questions

Before you start

Do extensions from the main store work?

Yes. The engine is the same, so the wider extension catalogue installs after allowing other sources.

Is the built in proxy a full traffic service?

It routes browser traffic only. Anything outside the browser is unaffected by it.

Can profiles be moved between machines?

Yes, by copying the profile folder, or through the built in sync if you prefer.

Why the offline installer?

It installs without a connection and cannot swap in a different build partway through setup.
