OriginPro

Technical graphing and analysis for research work, producing publication ready figures from live data with a recalculation chain that updates every plot when the source numbers change.

Version 2025b 10.2.5.212 1.94 GB Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Updated 1 week ago

Overview

What this release is

The defining feature of this package is the recalculation chain. Import data, run an analysis, produce a graph, and every one of those steps stays linked. Replace the imported file with a new run of the experiment and the fit, the statistics, and the figure all update on their own. For research work where the same analysis is applied to batch after batch of measurements, that single behaviour saves more time than every other feature combined.

The graph types run far past what a general spreadsheet offers. Contour plots, ternary diagrams, polar and windrose charts, violin and box plots, 3D surfaces with projections, and heat maps with dendrograms are all first class outputs with full control over every element. Templates lock a journal specific figure style down so that every plot in a paper comes out consistent without adjusting axes and fonts each time.

Analysis coverage is deep on the mathematics that laboratory work needs. Peak fitting handles overlapping peaks with baseline correction and constrained parameters, nonlinear curve fitting ships with a large function library and accepts user defined equations, and the signal processing tools cover filtering, transforms, and correlation. Statistics runs from descriptive summaries through analysis of variance to survival and multivariate methods.

Automation is available at several levels. Batch processing runs an entire analysis template across a folder of data files and produces a summary sheet, the built in scripting language covers most repetitive work, and there is a full programming environment for anything more involved. Import filters cover the instrument formats that laboratories actually produce rather than only the generic delimited text case.

Feature set

What you get

Recalculation chain

Analyses and graphs stay linked to their source data and update automatically when the input is replaced.

Technical graph types

Contour, ternary, polar, violin, 3D surface, and heat map outputs with control over every element of the figure.

Peak analysis

Fits overlapping peaks with baseline correction, constrained parameters, and a full report of the fitted results.

Curve fitting

Large built in function library plus user defined equations, with global fitting across multiple data sets.

Statistics

Descriptive summaries, analysis of variance, nonparametric tests, survival analysis, and multivariate methods.

Batch automation

Run an analysis template across a folder of data files and collect the results into a single summary sheet.

Changes in this build

What changed

  • Import filters added for further instrument specific data formats
  • Graph rendering speed improved on plots containing very large point counts
  • Peak analyser gained better automatic detection on noisy baselines
  • Batch processing now reports per file failures instead of stopping the run
  • Fixed the export that rasterised vector elements in certain figure templates

Installation

How to install it

  1. Disable real time protection before extracting, since the licence service component is patched.
  2. Extract to a short path on a drive with at least 6 GB free.
  3. Run setup as administrator and choose the standalone installation type rather than the network option.
  4. Do not configure a licence server when prompted, since this build does not query one.
  5. Skip any activation dialog on first launch. The professional analysis modules are already present in the menus.

Questions

Before you start

What does the Pro level add over the standard version?

Peak fitting, surface fitting, advanced statistics, signal processing, and image analysis. All of them are present here.

Do older project files open?

Yes. Projects from previous versions open and convert, and the analysis chains inside them keep working.

Can it read instrument data directly?

It covers a long list of instrument formats through import filters, alongside the usual delimited text and spreadsheet cases.

Is scripting required to automate work?

No. Batch processing through analysis templates covers most repetitive jobs without writing anything.
