Overview

What this release is

Most image tools give you two choices, extract everything or burn everything. This one treats an image as an editable container. Open it, drag a file out, drag another one in, delete a folder, and save. The boot record and the file structure survive the edit, which is the whole reason the program has stayed relevant for two decades.

That matters most when working with installation media. Adding drivers to a setup disc, replacing an answer file, or removing a language pack from an oversized image are all single operations here rather than a full rebuild through a command line toolkit. The boot information can be extracted from one image and applied to another when a disc needs to be made startable.

Format coverage is unusually wide. Beyond the standard image format it reads the proprietary containers left behind by every burning suite of the last twenty years and converts between them, which makes it the tool of choice when someone hands you an archive in a format nothing else will open.

It also writes bootable USB media directly, with a choice of boot method for older and newer firmware, mounts images to a virtual drive without a separate mounting utility, and creates images from a physical disc sector by sector. The Premium configuration removes the trial size ceiling entirely.

Installation

How to install it

Extract the archive and run setup as administrator so the virtual drive component can register.
Apply the included activation step before opening any image.
Reboot once after installation if the virtual drive does not appear in the file explorer.
Always work on a copy of an image rather than the original when editing an installation disc.
Never save over an image that is currently mounted, since that is the usual way to corrupt one.

Before you start

Can it edit an installation disc without breaking the boot?

Yes, provided the boot information is preserved on save, which is the default behaviour.

Does it still burn to physical discs?

Yes, though most people now use it to write bootable USB media instead.

Why does the virtual drive not appear?

The driver needs an administrator install and sometimes a reboot before Windows presents the drive letter.

Is there a limit on image size?

Not in this configuration. The ceiling that applies to the trial version has been removed.
